STATEMENT...
... I seek the paradox that pervades everyday
life and attempt to capture those rare glimpses that reveal our
souls, our fears, our selves. It is with these thoughts in
mind that I develop photo-images in traditional Black &
White, and through the combined magic of reticulation and the
discipline of oil painting, create "colorized"
versions on various media: mural-sized photographic paper,
photo-linens, photo-emulsion on cloth and other objects. I
have finally discovered a place that I am comfortable in, and
hope to share that space with others who understand and can
appreciate what it is like to be free.
BACKGROUND...
I delve in abstract expressionism and interpretation through oil painting. I explore and experiment with different surfaces, alternative processes, and combinations of various forms of media to create
what some may wish to call "expressionist" mixed media art.
I have combined traditional and alternative photographic techniques with oil painting on various media to create new forms
of photo-imagery. Thus far, I have produced mural-sized “photo images” on photographic paper, photo-linens, photo-emulsion on cloth and
other objects. My hope is to extend photo-imagery to other
two/three/multi-dimensional media.
